Anthony F. Zamis

Anthony was born Oct. 25, 1908 in Chicago, IL to Felicia and Peter Zemaitis. He was the loving and devoted husband for 73 years, to Ann (Rappold) Zamis. He was the loving and proud father of Lenore Lanka, Peter Zamis and Marie Zamis. Survivors include his wife Ann, 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He graduated Summa Cum-Laude for the University of Illinois in 1933 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1936, he received an Electrical Engineering Degree from the Lewis Institute. Anthony was a highly respected Chief Engineer and inventor. Tonys parents were emigrants from Lithuania. He learned early to work hard and pay his way through life. He was always a considerate and loving man who made sure his family maintained contact through picnics and holidays, especially Christmas. Through his 73 years of marriage, his main concern was the comfort, education and safety of his wife and family. His philosophy of life was "Honesty is the Best Policy" . His celebration of life will be private. His family would like to thank Hospice and his compassionate caregiver for all their love and care.
