Anthony C. Valiulis, 92, of Rockford passed away Saturday March 13, 2010 in Provena St Anne Nursing Home. He was born January 29, 1918 in Rockford. Son of Carl and Scholastica Valiulis. He married Rose Castree on February 15, 1942. She predeceased him in 2003. Tony was President of GC Electronics, a business that was started out of his brothers garage before WW II. He retired from GC at 62 and became a successful manufacturers rep for the next 10 years. A member of St Bridget Church, Forest Hills Country Club, and a 4 th degree Knights of Columbus, Tony was a prolific photographer, enjoyed watching sports and playing tennis and golf. Throughout their married life, he and his wife traveled extensively all over the world. Tony was a quiet, generous, patient, and loving husband, father, and grandfather who was accepting and lead by example. Survivors include his children: Colette (Kyle) Anderson of Rockford, Anthony (Maryann) Valiulis of Highland Park and David (Greg Wasson) of Escondido, CA. Grandchildren: Kristin (Mike) Anderson Halston of Elburn, IL, Jeffrey (Susan) Anderson of Foxboro, MA, Valerie (Rob Kallick) Anderson of Los Angeles, CA and Caitlin Valiulis of Highland Park, IL and Dublin, Ireland. Great Grandchildren: Mackenzie, Kendall and Ryan. Predeceased by his parents, wife Rose, Brother Stanley and Sisters Ida, Helen, and Petronella. Mass of Resurrection at 10:30am Friday March 19, 2010 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Monsignor Thomas Bales officiating. Entombment in Calvary Mausoleum. Visitation from 9am until time of service Friday in the church. Memorial to Rockford Rescue Mission and Rockford Food Pantry. Arrangements completed by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory 1860 S. Mulford Road.
