Anne Marie Swain

Anne Marie Swain, 59, of Belvidere, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in her husbands arms, after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Ted amp; Jean Kowalski on May 3, 1952 in Chippewa Falls, WI. Her childhood was spent in rural Chetek, WI where she graduated from high school in 1970. She married Carlton Swain on June 3, 1978 in Rockton, IL at the Church By the Side of the Road. She received her Bachelors Degree, with honors, from Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, IL and her Masters Degree, with honors, from the Kent School of Social Work, University of Louisville, Louisville, KY. She was employed by MetLife as a psychiatric clinician until the time of her death.
Anne Marie is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Carlton; son, Steven Swain; daughter, Alicia (Dan) Durtschi; granddaughter, Stella; brothers, Gene (Jolene), Dennis, Gerard (Sue) and David (Kathy) Kowalski; sisters, Charlotte (Tim) Rathman, Rose Polachek, and Denise Hawks; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and brother, Ted. The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the Dr.s, nurses and staff at UW Madison, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, OSF St. Anthony Hospital and OSF Hospice.
