Ann Marie Palmieri-Cowan

Ann Marie Palmieri-Cowan, 90, of Rockford passed away on August 19, 2008. Born March 19, 1918 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of Valentine and Mary (Perago) Palmieri of Chieti, Italy. Ann moved to Rockford during the 1950s and was employed by United Bank/ National City Bank for over 25 years. Ann was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church. She loved cooking, gardening, flowers, plants and anything that grows. Ann led a life of service, and her family always came first. Ann is survived by her son Chris (Nita) Cowan, daughters Joanna (William) Gabel, Roberta (Roland) Edwards and Rosalie (Gene) VanBuskirk. Grandchildren Dina Gabel, Celeste Greathouse, Lynne (Jim) Verdier, Nathan (Amber) Peterson, Jacob Peterson, Amber Cowan, Barrett Cowan and many great- grandchildren. Sister-in-law Doris Palmieri and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, son Ralph Peterson, grandson Brian Gabel and siblings Joseph, Peter, Anthony and Theresa. Funeral Mass will be held Monday August 25, 2008 at 11 a.m. in St. Bridget Catholic Church with Father Burt Absalon officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Monday August 25, 2008 at the church. Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd.
