Ann M. Cropp, 87, of Machesney Park, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016, at SwedishAmerican Hospital. Born April 29, 1929, in Mammoth Cave, KY, the daughter of Alma and Della (Meredith) Ritter, but was raised later by Della and Lawrence Null. Lived all her life in the Rockford area. She graduated from West High School, Class of 1947. She married her true love, Milt Cropp in Rockford on February 5, 1966. She worked with her husband as a bookkeeper during their career. Retiring from Cropp's Door Service in 2005, after 35 years. Ann was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was named 2016 St. Patrick Catholic Church Woman of the Year. She enjoyed playing cards, especially 500 Rummy, with her dear friends and family. She love to go camping in Baraboo, WI, with Milt for over thirty five years. Ann was a special wife, mother, aunt, and friend to many. She will be truly missed. Survivors include husband, Milt; daughter, Lisa (Don Naker) Cropp; brother, Howard Ritter; special nieces and nephew, Mary (Paul Harrington) Nichols, Wendy (Charles) Clark, and Tom Nichols; cousin, Alberta Crawford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by parents; son, Dino; brothers, Joe, Dean and Dennis Ritter; sisters, Ester Nichols and Alice Thorne; and in-laws, Ortho and Kathleen Cropp. Special thanks to friends, Becky and Jeff Colson, Carolyn and Guillermo Arango, and Rotha Waldsmith and family for all your love and concern, and to Sonny at Hollywood Nails for doing Ann's nails for the past 20 years. The family would also like to thank Emily and the staff at Swedish American's CCU. You are all wonderful.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with a rosary at 6:45 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, and from 9:30 10:15 a.m. Friday in the church.
