Ann Lucille Didier, 83, Rockford, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 30, 1929, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Andrew and Paulina (Antich) Beg. Ann married William A. "Bill" Didier in St. Louis, MO, on October 25, 1952.
She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker extraordinaire. Ann loved her family, church, community and her many friends. She was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Church, the Parish PTA, St. Edward's Catholic Woman of the year in 2008, active in the Ladies Guild, was the past president of the Legion of Mary, a 4-H Club leader, a member of the Catholic Women's League, the Ladies of the Knights of Columbus, Council 470, the director of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel from 1983 until 1988, a past secretary of the Rockford Curia ,the past vice president and membership chairman for the St. Ed's Senior Club.
Survived by her husband of 61 years, Bill; her children, Mark (Laura) Didier of Bolingbrook, Mary Durren of Los Alamos, NM, Sue Kaltved of Rockford, Andrea (Jim) Gustafson of Rockford, Lori Didier of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Christine (Bob) Johnson of Mason, OH; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Hank, John, and Mary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00am, Friday, December 6, 2013, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 3004 11th St. Rockford. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 5, 2013, with the Rosary recited at 7:30 pm in Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials to Neurofibromatosis Midwest, 473 Dunham Rd., Suite #3, St. Charles, IL 60174, attn:#16, the Didier Family.
