Angela R. Greenberg, 96, of Rockford passed away peacefully at River Bluff Nursing Home, on April 28, 2018. Born November 5, 1921 in Cheyenne, WY, the daughter of Nunzio & Vita (Tarantola) Ingrassia. Lived most of her life in Rockford, coming here from New York. She married Samuel “Sam” Greenberg in Rockford on January 7, 1948. Angela was a professional dancer, she had a love of classical music, and began dancing at the age of six when her teacher kept her after school. Performing at an early age at the Capital Theater during amateur night, she loved it so much, she had to be taken off the stage. She didn’t want to leave.
Angela served as a volunteer at St. Anthony Hospital in pediatrics.
Survivors include son, Robert (Patricia) Greenberg; granddaughters Rachel Greenberg and Amy (Duane) Johnson; nephews David (Angela), and Steve; and great niece Stephanie (Jon). Predeceased by parents, sister Sue Crawford and brother Tony Ingrassia.
