Andrew M. Booth, 86 of Rockford died Tuesday, October 7, 2008 in his home after a long illness. Born October 6, 1922 in Carnoustie, Scotland, the son of Percival and Madge (Arrol) Booth. Served 5 years as a Sergeant in the Royal Air Force during WWII in Scotland, England and Palestine. Married Jean Nisbet in Hamilton, Scotland 1944; she died in 2000. Emigrated to the U.S. in 1952, settling in Rochester, NY where he worked for the Eastman Kodak Company for over 30 years in the paper sensitization department. Upon retirement in 1982 moved to AZ where he became a member of St. Barnabas church, worked in real estate and enjoyed many trips to his homeland and other destinations around the world. In 2001, moved to Rockford where he married Judi Ford Farrell. Member of Rockford Robert Burns Club. Golf, soccer, gardening, children and building doll houses for younger generations were lifelong passions. A friend of Bill W., nurturing was his gift to the people he loved, his two Scottish Terriers and anyone in need. Survivors include his wife Judith Farrell-Booth of Rockford; grandchildren, Drew (Mary Jane) VandenBrul of PA and Travis and Heather VandenBrul both of AZ; son-in-law, Don VandenBrul of AZ, great grandchildren, Evan and Abby VandenBrul of PA; step-daughter, Molly (Brian) Buhck; step sons, Greg (Stephanie Baxter) Farrell, Tim (Lisa) Farrell, Dan Farrell and Jack (Julia) Farrell all of Rockford area; step grandchildren, Stacey and Jessica Farrell of Rockford, Felicia (Aron) Stewart of NV, Kim Farrell, Adam and Emily Buhck and Katie, Devon and Cameron Farrell all of Rockford; step great grandchildren, Calista and Logan Stewart of NV and Chase and Brooklyn Farrell of Rockford; sister Doreen (Allan) Doig of Scotland and his faithful wee dogs Kylie and Angus. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, daughter, Phyllis VandenBrul, 2 infant children and brothers, Edward and John. Memorial service Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Rev. Dr. William R. Kerr, Sr. officiating Visitation Sunday from 12-1 in the funeral home. Inurnment to be held at a later date at St. Barnabas on the Desert, Scottsdale, AZ.
