Andrea D. Anderson

Andrea D. Anderson, 48, of Rockford, Illinois passed away surrounded by family Monday, July 27, 2020. She was born May 14, 1972 in Rockford, Illinois the daughter of James Orsinger and Mary Jane (Cleeton) Gallagher. Andrea graduated from Guilford High School class of 1990. She went on to Rock Valley College and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Illinois University. She married the love of her life, John Anderson on January 4, 1997. Andrea worked for Social Security for many years. Andrea was a devoted dance mom and basketball mom. She adored her girls and loved spending time with them. Andrea was selfless, putting everyone before herself. She was a longtime member of the Cathedral of St. Peter. Andrea enjoyed photography and her dogs. Andrea will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Survived by her beloved husband, John; daughters, Allison and Aubrey; parents, Jim (Etoyle) Orsinger and Mary Jane (Dennis) Gallagher; sister, Tara (Jamie) Osborn; 4 step brothers and 2 step sisters; mother-in-law, Janet Anderson; 2 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; companions, Lola and Lucky. Preceded in death by her grandparents; father-in-law, Dean Anderson; uncles, Gary Orsinger and Gene Cleeton; aunt, Renita Orsinger. The family would like to thank Serenity Hospice and Dr. Alaeddin Maeza for their care and compassion.
Walk through Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. Memorial Mass will be Friday, July 31, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Peter. Masks are required and please practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Andrea’s name to a cancer organization of your choice.
