Alyce F. Kotz

Alyce F. Kotz, 61, of Rockford passed away at 12:05 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in Swedish American Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Born February 24, 1947 in Presho, South Dakota to John and Marie (Schoenfelder) Houchin. She married Paul C. Kotz on November 22, 1965 in Kennebec, South Dakota. Alyce enjoyed sewing, crafts, and spending time with her friends, family and especially her grandchildren.   She is survived by her children Melissa (Robert) Chapman, Paula (Aric) Clevenger both of Rockford, Kathryn Kotz, Roscoe, IL, and Michael Kotz of Omaha, NE. Grandchildren Erin Jardine, Rockford; Gillyanne Redisi, Roscoe; Zane Clevenger, Rockford; great-great granddaughter Marie Martin, Rockford. Brother Willis (Joyce) Houchin and sister Judy (David) Mertens al of Kennebec, SD and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Alyce was predeceased by her husband of 42 years Paul C. Kotz. The family wishes to thank Dr. Harvey Einhorn and his staff at Swedish American Hospital and to Steve and Barb Kotz; Larry and Carol Buckwalter and Othelda (Opie) Ferguson for their many hours of friendship and care.  Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 29, 2008 in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a visitation from 5:30 p.m. to the time of service. Private family burial at Arlington Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. To
