Allen J. Taylor

Allen J. Taylor, 84, of Rockford, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. Born April 22, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Herbert and Mary Taylor. Married Dorothy Kelly on Oct. 14, 1951, in Brooklyn, she preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 2010. He was a United States Veteran serving in the Navy as an officer. During Allen's working years he was employed at Warner Lambert as a manager, retiring in 1982. Survivors include his children; James (June) Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Janet (Anthony) Castile; special granddaughter, Kayla Taylor; great grandson, Jontrail; brother, Paul (Pat) Taylor; sisters, Joan (Ed) Kennedy and Mary (Jack) Joyce; brother-in-law, Joseph Kelly and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father -in-law; his wife; brother, Herbert; sister, Regina Taylor; sister-in-law, Maureen Kelly and nephew, James Kelly. Memorial service Friday, Jan. 7, at 6:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Visitation from 5 :00 until time of service.
