Allen Forsburg

Allen Forsburg, 86, of Rockford, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, in his home with family, following a grueling yet valiant fight with cancer. Allen was born December 19, 1922 in Crystal Lake, IL to Anna and Amandus Forsburg. Raised in Williams Bay, WI, he graduated from Williams Bay High School, attended Carrol College, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a degree in electrical engineering. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Asian theater. In 1949 he found his sweetheart, Patricia Czerwinski. Married in 1951, they had a great time traveling and golfing together during their 52 year union. Hes been lost without her since her passing in 2004. Al worked at Barnes Drill Co. as Chief Electrical Engineer for 30 years. He was an avid golfer from a young age. Even after he was no longer able to play, it remained his greatest interest.  He is survived by his son, Scott of Aurora, IL; daughter, Patty of Fort Collins, CO; granddaughters, Carmen of Boulder, CO and Rose of Fort Collins, CO; plus scores of great friends and relatives.
