Alice Marion (Finan) Fitzgerald

Alice Marion (Finan) Fitzgerald, 103, lifelong resident of Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. She was born May 28, 1915 in Rockford to Alice (Finan) and Mark James Fitzgerald. Alice graduated from Muldoon High School in 1933. After graduation she worked for many years at Ellis Electric before joining the Trust Department of American National Bank, where she worked for 20 years as a secretary until retirement in 1979. Alice enjoyed gardening and traveling with her twin sister Mary, taking annual vacations that always included their mother. The sisters loved golf and would play every Sunday at Macktown. They also shared a lifelong love for Scotty dogs. She loved to drive and they visited many states around the country also including parts of Canada. Alice was one of the founding volunteers of the gift shop at Presence St. Anne Center. In 2011 she was recognized for 25 years of dedicated volunteer service.
Alice is survived by her special friend Patti Marston, loving caregiver Mercedes Daymiel, and numerous members of her extended family. Predeceased by her parents, Alice (Finan) and Mark James Fitzgerald; Twin sister, Mary Veronica Fitzgerald, sister, Ellen Fitzgerald; brothers, John and Joseph Fitzgerald.

Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday November 13, 2018, at Holy family Catholic Church, 4401 Highcrest Rd Rockford with Father Beauvais officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of the Mass at church. Burial in St. Mary’s/St. James Catholic Cemetery. Remembrances can be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.
