Albert William Affeldt

Albert Bill William Affeldt, 73, of Rockford passed away July 24, 2009 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born May 8, 1936 in Janesville, WI, the son of A.W. Dick and Helen (Young) Affeldt. He married Mary Thomson on June 11, 1965. Bill worked for GM in Janesville before coming to work for Chrysler Corporation. He retired in 1991 from Chrysler. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church in Rockford. He was an avid golfer, a Packer Backer, and he always had a smile on his face. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary, children Patti Flores, Richard Cameron and JonnaMarie Risher. Grandchildren Amy (Ed) Sites, Zachary Risher and great-grandchild Tegan Sites. Brother Robert Affeldt, sister Joan Dongarra and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Bills family made the generous donation of his corneas through the Illinois Eye Bank. Affeldt and great-grandson Jefferson Robert Risher. Funeral Mass will be Monday, July 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rita Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Camaioni officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., with a Rosary at 6:30.
