Albert “Al” Navickis, 57, of Roscoe, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016. He was born on May 21, 1959 in Rockford, the son of Albert and Jane (Godfrey) Navickis. He graduated from Harlem High School, and then went on to study at Rock Valley College, and Evangel University in MO. He met the love of his life, Diane Rebecca, and the two married on August 13, 1994. He spent nearly 20 years working for the Winnebago and Boone County Probation Services, and later began Al’s Tree Planting. He was an avid Bears, Bulls and U. of I. fan, loved the outdoors, and was a man of faith. Above all else, he was a deeply devoted husband; father, brother, son, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; his two sons, Alec and Austin Navickis; his mother, Jane Navickis; his siblings, Mike (Pam) Navickis, Marsha (Tom) Nyberg, Curt (Cheryle) Navickis, Lisa (Colin) Bystrom, George(Marie)Navickis, and Kathy (Chris) Harvey; many aunts, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Albert Navickis.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford Chapel. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home. The visitation will continue Friday, November 11, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
