Agnes P. (Glendy) Bowie, 89 of Rockford died Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Provena Cor Mariae Center. Born March 14, 1922 in Wheeler, Illinois to Rawleigh amp; Lora (Ryder) Brown. Graduated from Willow Hill High School and Beauty School in Champaign, Illinois. Married William J. Glendy on December 19, 1942. He predeceased her on November 11, 1974. Married Herbert Herb W. Bowie on March 11, 1978.
Agnes worked for Camcar amp; Hadees Heater as the recording Secretary then worked for Rockford Specialty Screw. Member of Living Faith Church and Maywood Evangelical Church. Agnes also worked as the financial and recording secretary of Chrysler retirees. Won 1 st prize at the Winnebago County fair for her beautiful ceramic work. Agnes also loved crocheting.
Survived by her husband Herb; Daughters, Gwendolyn Rylatt and Beverly Brzostek; 4 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren; 5 nieces and 2 nephews. Stepchildren, Donald (Gayle) Bowie, Nancy (the late Noah) Leitschuh, William (Lorie) Bowie, Sandra (Bruce) Bullock and Patricia (Michael) Pekarsky; 11 stepgrandchildren and 9 stepgreatgrandchildren; Sister Louise Jourdan. Predeceased by her parents, first husband William and sisters Edna Wiseley and Lorane Eaton. Special Thank You to Mary Easley for all her help and loving care.
Funeral Service 11 am on Wednseday February 22, 2012 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory 1860 S. Mulford Road with Pastor David Coke officiating. Burial in Willwood Cemetery. Visitation from 10 amnbsp;to 10:45 am on Wednesday at Fitzgerald Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission.
