Adolph L. Bledes, 90, of Rockford, passed away in his home, Friday, August 18, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 16, 1927, in Chicago, IL, the son of Adolph & Rose (Kosiewicz) Bledes. Graduated from Kelly High School in Chicago, then later Walton College. He was able to travel and see the world, during his time serving in the US Army on a medic ship. Married Lillian Cieslukowski on June 7, 1952. They moved to Rockford in 1974, coming here from Chicago, IL. Adolph worked for Rockford Memorial Hospital as a comptroller, retiring in 1988, they moved to Mercer, WI and returned to Rockford in 2007. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Rockford and Mercer, WI, where he served as treasurer and helped deliver meals on wheels. He enjoyed fishing, boating, the Chicago Cubs, and being involved with the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include wife of 65 years Lillian, daughter Julie (Todd) Hedlund; son Robert (Joyce) Bledes; grandchildren Melissa (Nick), Allison and Emilee; great-grandson Jax; sister Lucille (Jack) Tomisek and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents and sister Lillian.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation from 10 a.m. until time of service. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorial to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory.
