Adeline A. Armato, 81, lifelong Rockford resident, died in her home at 7:54 a.m. Sunday, June 27, 2010.nbsp; Born July 11, 1928, daughter of Peter and Caterina (Geraci) Salamone.nbsp; Graduated from Muldoon High School in 1946. nbsp;Married Salvatore Sam Armato in St. Anthony Catholic Church on November 19, 1949.nbsp; Member of St. Rita Catholic Church and a member of the Sicilian Ladies Club.nbsp; Adelines most treasured moments were spent with her family and nbsp;especially loved the family vacations.nbsp; She and Sam were world travelers. They spent winters in Palm Springs from 1980 until 2004 and spent every July at Fripp Island in South Carolina.nbsp; She enjoyed gardening and loved to shop.nbsp; Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember their Nana and Nana Adeline.
Survivors include her sons, Steven M. (Katharine) Armato and Dennis E. (Cheryl) Armato; grandchildren, Steven S. (Lissa) Armato, Katharine P. Armato, Richard G. Armato, Cara (Randall ) Warkentien and James (Kara) Habedank.nbsp; Also survived by her great-grandchildren, Hailey Anne, Alaina Ann, Kyla Leigh, Adeline Kristine and Vanessa Elaine with another great-granddaughter to be born in September; sisters, Gina (William) Mautino, Mamie (Orvis) Helgerson, Rosemarie (Rodney) Weller and many nieces and nephews.nbsp; Predeceased by her husband on May 25, 2008 and her parents.nbsp; Adelines family would like give a special thank you to Dr. Nora and his staff, the staff of OSF St. Anthony Hospice and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Armato and her niece, Jackie Zickuhr who took special loving care of her.
A Memorial Mass of Celebration will be held atnbsp; 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in St. Rita Catholic Church with Msgr. Gerald P. Kobbeman officiating.nbsp; Inurnment in Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.nbsp; Memorial visitation from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in Fitzgerald Funeral Home amp; Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m.nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF St. Anthony Hospice or the Leukemia amp; Lymphoma Society.
