Abelardo Jimenez

Abelardo “Abe” Jimenez, 59, of Rockford, IL passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

Abe was born in Nayarit, Mexico on December 12, 1962, the son of Rogelio and Aurora Jimenez.

He married Patricia Beltran on December 23, 1979. Abe was dedicated to his faith and strong in prayer as he often read the Bible. He brought so much joy to his family and always kept them smiling and laughing. He also devoted his spare time taking great care of his yard. Most of all, Abe cherished the time he spent with family, especially his dear grandchildren.

Abe will be greatly missed by his mother, Aurora Jimenez; loving wife, Patricia Jimenez; children, Abe, Luis, and Jennifer Jimenez; grandchildren, Giovanni, Daniel, and Michael Jimenez; siblings, Juany, Luciano, Aurora, Rogelio, Carlos, Luis, and Zoila; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Abe is predeceased by his father, Rogelio Jimenez.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m. located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church 3004 11th St. Rockford, IL 61109 with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Final resting place will conclude in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago, IL.
