Abed G Kahale

Abed G. Kahale, 85, passed away Tuesday August 2, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Rockford, IL. He is survived by his son, Ryad Kahale (wife Priscilla (Clark) Kahale), daughter Julie Kahale-Nissen (husband Marty Nissen) and beloved grandson Tyler Jonathan Kahale. He is predeceased by Janet E. (Redding) Kahale who died June 15, 1999.
Abed, a native of Damascus, Syria, immigrated to the U.S in 1952 for a college education and to pursue the America dream. His first residence in the U.S was in Ft. Wayne, IN where he attended Indiana Technical Institute. He met Janet in Ft. Wayne at a YWCA international student function; they would be married in 1958. He graduated in 1955 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He started work in 1959 as a Design Engineer at Controls Company of America (now Eaton) where he worked for over 30 years. While at Controls Company he rose to Engineering Supervisor and earned eight U.S Patents pertaining to appliance manufacturing. He lived most of his life with his family in Hoffman Estates, IL, where Ryad and Julie were raised.
Private burial at Uniontown Cemetery, Zanesville, IN where he is buried with Janet and members of the Redding family. Arrangements by Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Rockford, IL.
