William Leo Bill Byrne, 55, Rockford, died on Monday, April 9, 2012, in his home. He was born November 6, 1956, in Rockford, the son of Leo M. and Margaret A. (Loveall) Byrne, Jr. Bill received his Bachelors degree and his Masters degree from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston.nbsp; On the happiest day of his life he married Lori Morgan in Champaign on July 7, 1990.nbsp; She died on May 13, 2007. Bill was an elementary school teacher in Westville and later taught on a Navajo Indian reservation in Kingman, Arizona before moving to Rockford.

Survived by his brother, David (Amy Miltenberger) Byrne of Watertown, Wisconsin; nephews, Laurence, Alexander, and Julian Byrne; motherinlaw, Darlene Ren; brothersinlaw, Donnie (Kristi) Morgan and Rick (Joann) Ren; sisterinlaw, Joni (Tommy) Ford.nbsp; Bill enjoyed his many nephews and nieces.

Bill was a generous and friendly man with an easy smile and laugh.nbsp; He enjoyed writing, listening to music, and his time at the Bookworm talking and laughing with friends.nbsp; He will be missed by us, but now is at peace with Lori and our Lord.nbsp;nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Rockford Public Library or the American Diabetes Association.

Memorial service will be 12:00pm (noon), Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Potomac Nazerene Church in Potomac with Pastors Greg Breeden and Randy Holden officiating.nbsp; Burial in Potomac Cemetery.nbsp; Visitation from 11:00 am until time of service on Saturday at the church. Arrangements by LanhamWolfe Funeral Home, 400 N. Vermillion St. in Potomac. The family was assisted locally by Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory.nbsp;
