Tami Diane Eischen, 57, of Rockford, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022.


Tami was born in Oak Lawn, IL on May 30, 1965, daughter of Joseph M. and Diane (Kuba) Dombrowski. She graduated from Bremen High School in Midlothian, IL, Class of 1983. Tami then went on to major in social work, minor in theology with a concentration in Spanish and successfully completed training for the Lutheran Deaconess Association, at Valparaiso University, Indiana, Class of 1988. She married Richard D. Eischen on September 19, 1992, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church of Midlothian, IL. They had just recently celebrated their 30th Wedding Anniversary together. Tami worked many dedicated years as a social worker, always helping others throughout her career. She was very active in her faith and church life and was most recently a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Rockford. Tami was exceptionally talented in musical instruments including many woodwinds as well as the ukulele. She loved sharing her musical talents with others and even led and taught handbell choirs at church. Tami was a member of a band called Harmony Outpost with Pam Anderson and her husband Rik, while living in New Ulm, MN. She was also active in the American Taekwondo Blackbelt Association. Tami had a great passion for music and art. She loved creating her own drawings, working with pastels to relax, creative writing, cooking various new recipes, and adventuring to different towns just to explore and see the sights. Tami was also a Green Bay Packer fan.


Those left to honor Tami’s memory include her husband, Rik Eischen; mother, Diane Dombrowski; siblings, Dawn Dombrowski, Timothy Dombrowski and Darryn Dombrowski; nieces and nephews, Jessyca, Brandon (Kayla), Jonathan, Bethany, Jason, Emily, Michael and Daniel; great-nephew, Liam; parents-in-law, Bob (Pat) Eischen; brothers-in-law, Timothy Eischen and Scott (Maria) Eischen; and her beloved Aussie shepherd dog, Olaf Paul Eischen. She is predeceased by her father, Joseph Dombrowski.


Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford, IL 61108. A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022, at New Life Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of service. A graveside service and burial will conclude at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2022, at Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2633 Church Street, Cottage Grove, WI 53527.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Tami’s name to New Life Lutheran Church in Rockford or Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove, WI.
