Robert "Rob" D. Harris II, 47, passed away at UW Health University Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin, on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. Born on November 24, 1973, in Rockford, Illinois, the son of Robert D. Harris and Edith "Edie" Andreassen. He graduated from Rockford East High School. Rob loved music and played saxophone in high school. After high school, Rob played bass in local bands Serenity, Save Our Souls (SOS), Black Eyed Susan, and Poor Man’s Fortune. Rob worked at Pink Pony Restaurant, Colonial Village Mall, Sundstrand, TRT Management, and Urban Equity Properties. Rob loved his cats and currently had two fur babies, Jethro and Zephyr. Rob also loved his family and his friends, though sometimes it was hard to tell because he was such a private and guarded person.
Rob is survived by his fur babies, Jethro and Zephyr; sister, Anita Harris; nephew, Alexander "Zander" (Brittany) Day; maternal grandmother, Marie Andreassen; father, Robert “Bob” (Deborah) Harris; aunt, Janet "Jan" (Craig) Spidle; cousin, Kelsey (Eric) Nicola; best friends and 'brothers from other mothers', Alan Corirossi, Andrew "Drew" Corirossi, and Jerry Billy.
Rob is predeceased by his mother, Edie; grandparents, Tor Andreassen and Harry and Helen Harris; fur babies Precious, Zeus, and Chops; and various special friends and honorary uncles.
The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the amazing medical team at UW Health University Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin, for their amazing care of Rob and the dignity and respect they showed to both Rob and Anita (who was able to be with Rob throughout his recent care). If any team could have gotten Rob home, it was this team. Thank you for everything.
The family would also like to express its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to Alan Corirossi and Jerry Billy who helped keep an eye on Rob and his fur babies until Anita could get to his side. The two of you will never fully understand how much peace your actions gave to this family because it freed us up to focus on Rob and not the day-to-day things. Anita is honored to call you “brothers”, too. Rob was lucky to have you both.
