Rick “Rickey” Harold Smith, 65, of Sterling, IL died on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at the Citadel Care Center in Sterling, IL.

He was born on April 14, 1954 in Sterling, IL, son of Harold and Bessie (Near) Smith. Rickey enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Rickey is survived by his daughters, Sadie Smith of Freeport, IL, Corbie Smith of Crystal Lake, IL, Josie (Rich) Nolan of Sterling, IL and Chelsie Smith of Freeport, IL; sons, Creedence Smith of Thomasville, NC, Jared Mewhirter of Sterling, IL, Cole and Wade Bruins of Nelson, IL; sisters, Debbie (Jim) Sheley, Brenda (Kenney) Wyatt and Tammy (Tom) Hernandez; brothers, Jimmy (Candance) Near and Jeff (Fran) Smith; many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Rickey’s Life will be held from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the WhoElse Land in Nelson, 126 Anderson Dr. Dixon, IL 61021.
