Norma J. Brady

Norma J. Brady, 93, Rockford, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born June 30, 1929, in Dixon, the daughter of Loran W. and Pearl R. (Heaton) Garren. She graduated from Dixon High School, class of 1947. Norma married James “Jim” M. Brady in Dixon on May 8, 1948. He passed away in 2012. She worked as a secretary for the Winnebago County State’s Attorney office for 26 years retiring in 1994. She was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church and a past member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Texas.

Survived by her children, James “Mike” of Derby, KS, Thomas “Tom” (Carol) of Rockford and Nancy Brady of Columbus, IN; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Brady of Largo, FL; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her sister Lavonne Huffman of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Jim, her parents; her daughter, Susan Brady; her son Timothy; and her daughter-in-law, Beverly Brady.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Cremation rites have been accorded. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. Share online condolences at www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
