Michael Steven Box

Michael Steven Box, 56, Loves Park, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2022, in his home. He was born May 14, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, to Gene Box and Jean (Lovell) Box. Mike grew up in Belvidere and graduated from Belvidere High School in 1983. Mike was employed as a truck driver for XPO Logistics for many years. Mike was extremely talented with his hands and was an all around handyman. He loved working on his Corvette, construction, and showing his sons all he could. Day to day you could find him sharing memes and giving everyone a hard time. Everyone who knew him knew he was extremely sarcastic and rough on the outside, but had a great heart and would do anything he could to help those he loved.
Survived by his sons, Steven Box and Matthew Box; brother, Ken Box and sister-in-law Tresa Gaziano-Box; sister, Kristine Parkinson and brother-in-law Bill Parkinson; and nephew Brandon Box. He is predeceased by his parents and is reunited with them.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S.
