Michael “Mikey” R. Fannan, 54, of Pecatonica, Illinois passed away on May 6, 2021 after complications following a valiant and courageous battle with COVID19. He was born on March 22, 1967 in Rockford, Illinois to Robert and LeAnn (Lapp) Fannan. Mike lived his whole life in Pecatonica, Illinois where he graduated from Pecatonica High School in 1985. He went to Rock Valley College where he earned his Associates Degree in Construction Management. While attending Rock Valley he met the love of his life, Darlene Dixon. Mike was the shy type and Darlene asked him for help with her math homework not knowing Mike was a math whiz. He helped her and she saw a flyer on the table for bowling and asked him if he wanted to go. That first date at the bowling alley was on February 3, 1993 and a couple years later he got down on one knee at that same bowling alley and asked Darlene to be his wife. They married on September 9, 1995 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mikey, as Darlene called him, was the kindest man she had ever met. He loved life, people, and God. He was a big supporter for anything to do with the Pecatonica community, he had lived there all his life and loved it there. Mike worked for Mikron Industries in Winnebago as a Senior Designer in the Product Design & Engineering Department for 27 years, he was devoted and proud of his job there. When he wasn’t working Mike loved spending time with family and friends. He loved taking trips with his wife to; Hawaii, Myrtle Beach, Washington, and Arizona. They also enjoyed many cruises together. Mike was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing golf. Mike will be deeply missed by his wife and everyone that knew him.
