Linda M. Sparks

Linda Mae Sparks, 75, Rockford, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018, in Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. She was born June 28, 1942, in Rockford, the daughter of Herbert and Violet (Johnson) Wilmer. She married James “Jim” Sparks in Rockford on June 24, 1961. Linda loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Jim; her daughters, Teresa (Bruce) Barch of Okauchee, WI and Paula (Andrew) Awe of Rockford, her grandchildren, Stephanie (Jordan) Brown, Eric (Chelsea) Barch, Daniel Barch, Jenna (Geordi) Hall, and Ian Kottman; a great grandson due in July; her brother, Donald (Jeannine) Wilmer of Florida; her sister, Myrna Peterson of Missouri; her brother-in-law, Vic Galluzzo; several nieces and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, her brother, Allan Wilmer; her brother-in-law, Lloyd Peterson and her sister-in-law, Jean Galluzzo.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice & Home, 1658 IL-2, Oregon, IL 61061.
