John R. Schandelmeier

John R. Schandelmeier (68), of Roscoe, IL, passed away after a long battle with cancer and kidney disease, July 10, 2023, in his home surrounded by family. 

John was born to Jack and Phoebe Schandelmeier February 03, 1955 in Portsmouth, VA. He grew up in Machesney Park, IL. He married his bride, Sue (Blue) on June 30, 1973. He was a devoted husband, father, and papa, Christian, electrician, umpire, referee, coach, fisherman, and a loyal Cubs & Packers fan. 

He was predeceased by his parents Jack and Phoebe. Survived by his wife Sue Schandelmeier; Children Mark (Nicole) Schandelmeier, Sandra (Dan) Huber, Carissa (Robert) Matheny, Tiffany (Jason) Askin, Erin (Jarred) Logan; Grandchildren Zach, Makayla, Adrian, Isaac, Cade, Madison, Levi, Evelyn, Liam, Aria.

In lieu of flowers and all donations will be given to MMRF(Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation) in memory of John.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 p.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 511 W Rockton Rd. Rockton, IL 61072. Burial will conclude in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL.
