James E. Hamilton, 66 Loving Husband and Father James E. Hamilton, 66 of Rockford, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born, March 4, 1941 in Burnwell, West Virginia the son of Emett and Glessie (Dunaway) Hamilton. Married his loving wife of 23 years Patricia Cook on June 25, 1983. Worked for Daimler-Chrysler for 30 years before retiring in 1997. James was a member of The American Legion and UAW Local 1268. He enjoyed woodworking and coin collecting. Survivors include his wife Patricia of Rockford; children, Misty Hamilton of Florida, Tamara (Clayton) Drought, Eileen (Mario) Lerma and Shayne (Tammy) Manees; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons all of Rockford and brother Lester (Donna) Hamilton of Caledonia. Preceded in death by his parents, 1niece and 1 nephew. Memorial service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 3:30 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Mulford chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL, with Rev. John Olane of Willowcreek Presbyterian Church officiating. Inurnment will be private at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 1:30-3:30 on Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
