Evelyn J. Doty

Joined her beloved husband "Jerry" on June 1, 2023. Evelyn was born in Madisonville, MO on October 15, 1936, to Russell and Ethel Tomlinson. Evelyn met Jerry at the age of 15 and were married for 64 years until his death in 2019. They enjoyed Life to the fullest, traveling, fishing, gardening and more. Evelyn was one of the very first female realtors in Rockford and started 5 Point Realtors in the 60's and was the owner/broker for over 55 years. She won various Awards including the Ruby Award.

When not working they enjoyed spending as much time as possible at their cabin in Mercer, Wisconsin with their closest friends Margaret and Paul Kulick. Evelyn loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed passing on her expertise in gardening.

Predeceased by her husband Jerry, Son Russell Doty. Survived by Son Mark (Julia) Doty, daughters Sandra (Steve) Pastore, Susan (Randy) Sheetz. 11 Grandchildren, 18 Great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the entire staff at Highview in the Woodlands and Northern Illinois hospice for their kindness and care they provided in her time of need.

A public visitation will be on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Rockton Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford 61103. A graveside service will follow at Twelve Mile Grove in Pecatonica. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice.
