Rockford-Charles R. Hulstedt, 91 of Rockford died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born April 13, 1919 in Rockford, Illinois to Godfrey and Alice (Lindval) Hulstedt.nbsp; Married Marlyn Hetzel on February 5, 1949 in Tomahawk, WI. He served in the US Navy. Retired from Barnes Drill Company in 1984. Member of 1 st Evangelical Covenant Church. Charles enjoyed woodworking, collecting antique tools and camping vacations with family. A gifted athlete. Disciple of Jesus and a testimony of Gods love to his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Marlyn; children, Charles (Grace) Hulstedt, Jr., Sue Ellen (Lou) Setter, James (Diana) Hulstedt, Jeffrey (Karen) Hulstedt, Dianna (Keith) Dickerman; grandchildren, Karin (Ron) Cabildo, Annie (Brian) Egler, Christina (Mark) Green, Sarah (Ryan) Enke, Elizabeth (Aaron) Woodyatt, Peter (Jodiann) Hulstedt, Rebecca (Forrest) Burris, Nathan (Annica) Hulstedt, Jacqueline (Ryan) Capes, Alan (Jennifer Hulstedt, David Hulstedt, Justin Dickerman, Danielle Dickerman and Haydon Dickerman; 17 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, Godfrey and Alice; grandson, Paul Hulstedt; brother, Ernest Hulstedt and sister, Bernice Samuelson.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1 st Evangelical Covenant 316 Wood Road with Pastor Peter Dibley. Burial to be Monday, February 7, 2011 in Scandinavian Cemetery. Visitation 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to 1st Evangelical Covenant Church or Salvation Army.
