Eileen E. Brown, 80, Rockford, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Kishwaukee Hospital. She was born June 28, 1929, in Chicago, the daughter of Peter and Mary (Hopkins) Carey. Eileen married Richard A. Brown in Chicago on June 10, 1950. He passed away in Rockford on May 24, 2009. She worked at Eagle Foods for many years and later at Kohl’s in Machesney Park. Eileen was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Belvidere.
Survived by her sons, Rick (Marc) Brown and Dan (Deb) Brown, both of St. Charles and her daughter, Kathy (Chris) Landgraff of Rockford; grandchildren, Mary, Elizabeth (Jason) Taylor, Christina and Eric Brown, Sandy (Jeremy) Spencer, Dan and Amber Brown, Katie (Jason) Irvin, Michael Landgraff, Stephanie and Nicole Sipinski; great-grandchildren, Ava, Julia, Jourdan, Sophia, Lucia, Oliver, and Hewson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents, husband, Richard, daughter, Patty Sipinski, brother, Kevin Carey and sister, Mary Murphy.
Memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, March 6, 2010, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, (Downtown St. Charles), 408 Cedar St., St. Charles, IL 60174. Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family. Memorials to Alzheimer’s Association, 4777 E. State St, Rockford, IL 61108.
