Margaret Pauline Salvato, 89, a life long resident of Rockford, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Medina Manor Nursing Center in Durand. Born September 2, 1920 the daughter of Sebastian and Mamie (Markese) Gulotta. Married her loving husband Phillip Salvato Sr. on November 29, 1941 in Rockford. She was employed for 20 years in the office at Mott Brothers. Margaret is a long time member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, St. Bernadette Sr. Association, St. Anthony Young Seniors and was currently attending St. Mary’s in Durand where she met a lot of wonderful new friends. Survivors include her son, Phillip (Frances) Salvato of Durand; grandchildren, Judi (Scott) Guenzler of Davis and Steven Salvato of Loves Park; great grandchildren, Kyle and Kaitlyn Guenzler of Davis and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents; infant son, Anthony; husband, Phillip on Nov. 18. 1995; brother, George Gulotta and sister, Marie Delia. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice Care of America, Pecatonica and to Medina Manor Nursing Center staff.
Funeral Mass, Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Interment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation Friday, Feb. 12, from 5 – 8 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside chapel 3910 N. Rockton Ave. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Memorials to Hospice Care of America.
